Reaching a milestone as tremendous as a 50th Anniversary deserves special attention, which Ford has richly honored in the 2015 Ford Mustang 50th Anniversary Edition pony car. From the sleek design to the GT chrome gas cap centered on the rear fascia, this limited edition ‘Stang is everything it should be.
The Mustang sitting in the Chapman Ford showroom is number 1246. Only 1964 of this limited edition were produced, and each one bears a chrome plate with its production number and Bill Ford’s signature. This beauty is clad in Wimbledon White, the same color as the first Mustang that rolled off the line, and the seats are enrobed with black and cashmere leather. And when you slide across that leather driver’s seat, you can’t help but feel the history that has kept the Mustang a muscle-car icon for 50 years.
The interior has chrome in all of the right places, right down to the toggle switches next to the keyless engine start button. This interplay of old-school design and high tech may sound ridiculous, but it works in this Mustang and brings back fond memories to us old folks who once owned a 60s-era ‘Stang (mine was a 1966 in Springtime Yellow). Other shoutouts to the first production model include logos on the seatbacks, the aforementioned faux chrome gas cap and the Y-shaped wheels meant to echo the chrome rims offered on the 19641/2 model. Perhaps one of the coolest design elements on this car are the quarter windows, which use three layers of glass to emulate the louvers on the original. The windows are sleek and fit perfectly into the overall fluid sculpture of the body.
All of the 50th Anniversary Editions include the GT Performance Package, which means a 5.0L V8 that makes 420 hp and 390 lb.-ft. of torque. Mustang No. 1246 has a six-speed manual, although an automatic also is offered. Stopping this pony are six-piston front Brembo calipers; the 19-inch wheels are clad in Pirelli P Zero rubber, and MacPherson struts keep the ride smooth. Selectable drive modes include normal, snow/wet, sport and track and are accessed using the retro-cool toggle switches on the center stack. Use the track setting when you want to test if your Anniversary Edition really does go from 0-60mph in 4.5 seconds; we are not responsible for your ticket, however, if you hot-rod it down Scottsdale Road.
Tech features include Sync with MyFord Touch, a voice-activated system that allows the driver to make hands-free calling, listen to incoming texts with audible text messaging, make music choices and even control what temperature the interior is with a voice command. Remote keyless entry, push button start/stop, dual climate control and power seats for both front passengers are also included as standard.
All-in-all, the 2015 Mustang 50th Anniversary Edition is a rare, perfect package of sentimentality, beefy power, and muscle-car spirit. Stop by Chapman Ford Scottsdale today to see this amazing beauty.
Now that 2014 is winding down, most of us are thinking about Christmas. But once we’ve all had our share of holiday fun, it won’t be long until 2015 gets underway. While there’s no way to predict exactly what 2015 Ford vehicles we will see, we’ll get our first glimpse in January.
One big event that will kick off the new year is the Detroit Auto Show. Even though there’s no shortage of car shows that happen around the globe, this is one of the biggest and most significant. This show is especially significant for consumers, who get their first chance to see many new cars that they can think about purchasing in the not too distant future.
What Does Ford Have in Store for the 2015 Detroit Auto Show?
Ford has a long track record of making a big splash at this auto show. And based on the information that’s been shared, it looks like 2015 will be no different. Although there’s a good chance of at least one notable surprise coming up during the show, the existing information that’s out in the world is quite exciting on its own.
First on the list is a new version of the Shelby GT350. Because the rumblings about this new version are that it’s going to be even more impressive than the already high bar that’s been set, the rumored name of GT350R seems quite fitting.
Another very exciting piece of information that’s been making the rounds is the possibility of a Ford GT replacement being debuted. Having this type of car available to own and drive would be very exciting news for speed enthusiasts.
3 Other Vehicles Ford is Likely to Debut
In addition to the exciting possibility of both a new GT350 and Ford GT replacement being announced at the Detroit Auto Show, there are three other vehicles you can expect to see. The first is the next-generation Ford F-150 Raptor. No concrete details have emerged, but most analysts agree that the Raptor’s debut will be an exciting one.
Next up on the likely debut list is the all-wheel drive Focus RS. Given the existing popularity of the Focus line, a new model will be a very nice addition. Last but certainly not least is an updated version of the Fiesta ST. With this and all the other likely debuts, it’s safe to say that there is going to be a lot of buzz about Ford once January arrives.
If you want to see the latest Ford models in person, be sure to come by Chapman Ford Scottsdale and take a look at all the great vehicles that are available.
November was officially the first full month of sales for the wonderful 2015 Ford Mustang. While most industry experts agreed that this great car was going to sell well, it actually exceeded everyone’s projections. During the month of November alone, Ford sold a total of 8,728 Mustangs. To put that number in perspective, it was 62% higher than November of 2013. This year’s Mustang sales mark the vehicle’s best November sales month since 2006.
Not Every Car Company is Flourishing
Although Ford’s recent sales of the new Mustang prove that there’s a lot of demand for quality sports cars, that doesn’t mean every model in this market is flourishing. Unfortunately for Chevrolet, the light isn’t so bright for their latest Camaro model. The company only managed to sell 4,385 of those cars during November. Not only is that less than half as many Mustangs as Ford sold, but it represents a 13.5% monthly sales decrease for Chevy.
Is Ford Going to Debut Another Mustang?
There are several key reasons why industry experts believe that the new Mustang is performing so well. The first is its appealing MPG. Although power is very important for a sports car, most people realize that gas prices won’t remain low forever. The advantage of the Mustang is it does provide MPG specs that are appealing enough for the car to be driven on a daily basis.
Another reason that consumers are really responding to this new Ford sports car is because it’s available in a variety of different models. The availability of those different options means that consumers can get exactly what they want from this car. The 2015 Mustang also has the advantage of offering a lot of great safety and other features. And as we previously discussed, since power is a top priority, buyers love the fact that the Mustang definitely delivers.
Based on the amount of interest in the new Mustang, lots of rumors have been popping up that Ford is going to unveil a new version of this car. As of yet, no official statements have been made on the topic. That being said, there have been some big hints floating around. The most significant came from Raj Nair.
Nair current serves as Ford’s product development director. In a conversation with The Detroit Bureau, he hinted that a new model will debut soon. Specifically, he indicated that this debut will take place in January during the North American International Auto Show.
If all this talk about the 2015 Mustang has you feeling excited, the best way to check out this great vehicle for yourself is to stop by Chapman Ford‘s showroom!

If you’re curious about what type of Ford OEM accessories are available, here’s a look at some of the different options that can be used inside or outside of your vehicle:
Popular interior accessories include ash or coin cups, cargo organization, door sill plates, floor mates, gear shift knobs, seat covers and sport pedals. Because there are so many different options within the cargo organization, floor mat, and seat cover categories, it’s fun to look at some specifics.
Two of the most popular options for cargo organization are a cargo area protector or cargo net. Since these accessories can fit a wide range of Ford vehicles, they come in a variety of styles. For example, there’s a cargo area protector designed for vehicles with a subwoofer in the back, and another one designed for vehicles that don’t have this audio component.
With floor mats, not only can you choose from a variety of attractive colors, but you can also get mats that can handle your specific needs. This can be great for protecting your vehicle from elements like dirt that you regularly pick up from where you work. And for seat covers, there’s no shortage of options that will give you the look you want, as well as protect your vehicle’s interior.
There are a lot of different OEM accessories that can be added to the exterior of different Ford vehicles. If you’re looking to make a big change, you may be interested in a body kit. For a smaller customization or replacement, decklid panels, deflectors, door handles or an exhaust tip are all good options.
While exterior accessories can definitely give you the look you want, there are also many that serve practical purposes. Racks and carriers can give your vehicle even more space for storing items, while splash guards can reduce how frequently you have to wash your car. Trailer towing accessories are another very popular accessory. By choosing the right OEM trailing towing accessories for your Ford, you’ll be able to easily take your boat or 4-wheeler out for really fun weekends.
