When the consumers talk, Ford listens. Fans of the Ford Focus RS hot hatch have been so active on social media that the automaker decided to create a very limited production run of 1,500 units, signaling the end of a generation for this supremely hot hatchback. “To satisfy strong demand for the ever-popular Focus RS, I’m very excited that we’re bringing this limited-edition vehicle to North America,” according to Ford Performance marketing manager Henry Ford. “We have spent a great deal of time listening to our customers, speaking to owners’ club members, reading comments and suggestion on enthusiast websites, and even studying various forum Photoshop renderings.” If you want to get your hands on the limited run of the new Focus RS, check in now with Chapman Ford.

Choose Red or Blue

The limited edition run of the Ford Focus RS comes in either Race Red or Nitrous Blue, two colors that denote speed and handling. Both colors are topped off with a glossy black roof, which is also the color of the rear roof spoiler. The RS logos on the wings are blue, as are the center caps of the 19-inch premium alloy wheels. Step into the cockpit and you’ll find a liberal use of carbon fiber skin, from the door handles and gauges to the handbrake lever. Black leather seats with microfiber inserts are generously bolstered to help hold you in place as you power through corners. A power driver seat, heated mirrors and steering wheel, and voice-activated navigation system are all standard on this version of the RS.

Experience Superb Power and Handling

The 2.3L EcoBoost engine delivers a phenomenal 350 horsepower and spine-tingling amount of torque, but all that power isn’t any good unless its distributed properly. That’s where the Quaife limited-slip differential and all-wheel drive system work together to deliver the power to the wheel that needs it most, reducing differences in wheel spin to deliver the most performance. “Our new limited-edition Focus RS represents accessible performance at its finest,” according to Ford Performance chief engineer Jamal Hameedi. “Improving on the thrilling driving dynamics of the Focus RS is no small task–but our Ford Performance engineers have delivered a drivetrain capable of wringing every drop of performance from the engine.”

Deliveries Start Late 2017

Of the 1,500 new Ford Focus RS hot hatches being manufactured, only 1,000 are coming to the United States. The remainder are slotted for Canada, which means you either need to stop in soon at Chapman Ford for the chance to own the latest piece in the Ford Performance lineup. Joining the Ford GT, F-150 Raptor, Shelby GT350 Mustang, Focus ST and Fiesta ST, the Focus RS is destined to deliver a dynamic driving experience and be a collector showpiece for years to come.
