You rush to get everyone in the car, fight to get the bags in and out of the vehicle and race to catch the shuttle from the terminal parking area. Then you stand in one line after another, suffer through indignities necessitated by the world we live in today and finally, after a long flight where your knees spend most of the time getting rammed by the seat in front of you, you finally arrive at your destination. Then you find your bags, find a ride and finally arrive exhausted at your destination. If this sounds like your normal holiday travel schedule, the folks at Chapman Ford offer an interesting alternative: Why not drive where you’re going during the holidays?

The Ford Expedition is the comfortable people hauler that offers the room, the technology and all the creature comforts to make your trip much more enjoyable than air travel. “The all-new Expedition fits eight people comfortably and can carry all of their luggage, while keeping everyone connected and entertained,” said Ford engineer Todd Hoevener, who is putting his money where his mouth is. Hoevener chose to use an Expedition to take his family from Michigan to Florida this December. “It’s really the ultimate road trip vehicle.”

Comfort the Key to Enjoying Your Trip

If you’re going more than an hour on a plane, chances are by the time to get your destination you’ll not only be in pain but exhausted. Airlines make their money by cramming as many people onto a plane as possible, which means there is very little room between your heels and hips. Not so in the new Ford Expedition, where a generous allotment of space in all three rows takes the fatigue, and pain, out of traveling. It’s also much easier to stay connected in the Expedition, with standard USB charging ports on each row to keep all the electronics up to optimal levels. That means the kids can play games or watch movies and not practice sticking their fingers in each other’s ears. If you do all agree on a music choice, an available 12-speaker supreme audio system will bathe the entire cabin in concert-quality sound.

Long Range Means Less Fuel Stops

With a large fuel tank and best-in-class gas mileage, the two-wheel drive Expedition Max delivers up to 538 miles in range. That’s farther than from Phoenix to Los Angeles or San Diego, meaning you can spend more time moving and less time ferrying the herd in and out of convenience stores. The 3.5L EcoBoost engine is paired with a brand-new 10-speed automatic transmission that delivers a stunning 24 mpg on the highway. That makes the Expedition the only full-size SUV to earn 20 mpg in combined driving. The Expedition is also as beautiful to look at as it is to drive. With six different trim levels, there’s a price point for everyone. See the entire Expedition lineup and take a test drive today at Chapman Ford.

Already one of the most fun cars to drive on the planet, the 2018 Ford Mustang GT now benefits from the addition of a performance pack that came about as the result of the engineering group’s love of driving. The Ford team in charge of Mustang enhancements worked nights and weekends to create a package of accessories that increase both performance and handling, turning the Mustang GT into a smile a minute thrill machine. “A passion to create something special is what really drove this project,” according to Mustang engineering manager Tom Barnes. “And that really showed in the off-the-clock way we went about doing our work.” Check in with the pros at Chapman Ford to see about test driving the new Ford Mustang GT.

Wheels, Tires and Shocks; Oh My!

A unique 19-inch wheel design made a notable improvement in the handling and steering response, while Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires provided extra grip on the road. New MagneRide dampers are custom tuned to the Ford Mustang GT’s overall suspension, while stiffer stabilizer bars in the front and rear provide a much more controlled driving experience with less body roll. An aerodynamics team, led by a former NASA specialist, developed a high-performance rear spoiler and front splitter to get the maximum downforce to keep the car glued to the road. Jamie Cullen, a Ford development supervisor, was the lucky guy who got to test drive all the work of the engineers. “It will just beg you to go faster,” Cullen said. “The car has lightning quick response and never gives up grip.”

Put the Roar Back in Your Drive

As the original charter member of the American Pony Car Industry, the Ford Mustang has been providing thrills and excitement for more than 50 years. The Mustang is about as affordable as sports car can come, with pricing starting at just $25,585. The latest version of the Mustang has a lower hood and a wider mouth, the better with which to eat up the competition. The Mustang comes in nine different trim packages, topped off by the Shelby GT 350. More of a dream come true than just another sports car, the GT350 is designed to be lightning fast while providing an exhilarating ride. A Sunday drive to Grandma’s was never so much fun.

EcoBoost Proves Big Things Come in Small Packages

The 2.3L EcoBoost engine in the Ford Mustang may be small, but it is fierce. Engineered to deliver 350 pound-feet of torque, this mighty motor will launch you off the line to the dismay of any who may offer  a challenge. The GT delivers a 5.0L V8 for people who need a bit more power. Both are paired with a new 10-speed automatic transmission that gets the very most out of every RPM.
